Search warrant in Bell County leads to large seizure of Crystal Meth and arrest of Pineville man

On Wednesday, April 14, 2021, members of the Appalachia Narcotics Investigations executed a search warrant on Kentucky Avenue in Pineville, Ky that yielded approximately one pound of crystal meth, a small amount of marijuana and over $1,000 in cash. The search warrant was a result of an ongoing investigation by ANI as well as information received by Officer Brandon Hollingsworth of the Pineville Police Department.

Pike County business owner indicted in Medicaid fraud scheme

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – A two-year investigation has led to the indictment of a man who owns several rehabilitation facilities in Pike, Floyd and Harlan counties on a health care fraud scheme, according to Kentucky State Police.

Investigators say Eugene Sisco III is accused of illegally charging patients cash for services that are covered by Medicaid and then fraudulently billing Medicaid, dating back to 2016.

KSP says Sisco received more than $3 million in cash paid to him by patients seeking treatment for addiction.

DRUG INVESTIGATION ENDS IN NINE ARRESTS

MT. STERLING, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Appalachia HIDTA Gateway Area Drug Task Force says nine people have been arrested after a three month investigation in multiple counties.

The task force says it arrested people from Montgomery, Fayette and Pike counties.

Officials with the task force say they took over 1/2 pound of crystal meth, suspected heroin, suspected fetanyl, suspected fetanyl pills, a pill press, cash and property.

Investigators say several of the suspects involved had been previously arrested for drug trafficking offenses. They say other arrests are expected.


Yearlong Investigation Results in 3 Arrests, Large Drug Seizure

The Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force concluded a year long investigation last week, executing multiple search warrants Jan. 15 in Louisville, Eliza­beth­town and Radcliff, which resulted in the arrest of three suspects.

According to a news release, a pound of methamphetamine, 6 ounces of cocaine, 10 grams of crack cocaine, 119 grams of marijuana, marijuana vapes and edibles were seized.


Traffic stop uncovers over 2 pounds of Mexican methamphetamine

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- Officials say they conducted a traffic stop Thursday afternoon that resulted in finding half a pound of meth in possession of Maurice Boyd.

Through further investigation police obtained and executed a search warrant at Boyd's residence.

Police found and seized an additional 2 pounds of Mexican methamphetamine, over $14,000 in cash and 3 handguns.

Boyd has been charged with trafficking a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia and taken to the Warren County Regional Jail.


Bell/Harlan crystal meth dealer sentenced

On Monday, September 23, 2019 Charles Hubbard, 57 years old of Pineville, Ky, was sentenced to 96 months in federal prison.

This conviction comes after a year-long investigation by Detectives from Appalachia Narcotics Investigations where he was caught on three separate occasions in Harlan and Bell County with a total of 225 grams of crystal meth.


Former Knox County Magistrate Arrested on Federal Drug Charges

On Thursday July 11, 2019 former Knox County Magistrate, Jerry “Rabbit” Cox, was arrested on a federal indictment warrant for six counts of Distribution of Controlled Substances – Hydrocodone. 

Mr. Cox turned himself over to the custody of the DEA at 11:00 this morning in the London Kentucky area. He is being held as a federal prisoner in the Laurel County Corrections Center and no bond is showing as of 12:25pm Thursday July 11th.


9 arrested in Montgomery, Fayette County drug trafficking bust

MT. STERLING, Ky. (WKYT) - The Mount Sterling Police Department says a drug task force has arrested nine people involved in a large drug trafficking operation.

The police department is part of the Appalachia High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Gateway Area Drug Task Force, which conducted a months-long investigation into the drug activity, leading to the arrests on Tuesday.

The task force conducted search warrants in Montgomery and Fayette counties to dismantle the drug trafficking organization. The suspects are from Montgomery, Fayette and Pike counties.
